How does a house call appointment work?

Your appointment with All Creatures Mobile Veterinary Service will be tailor-made to your needs from the very first phone call, when we will discuss your pet’s vaccine options, medical issues or specific needs.

For routine veterinary care, as well as sick animal appointments, injured animals or surgery, Dr. Curry will bring the 30 foot mobile surgical unit affectionately named “The Beast”. With the mobile unit, Dr. Curry is able to meet basic medical and vaccine need as well as provide X-ray services, laboratory services, cages for hospitalization and a surgery suite.

Can you help my animal when it is sick?

Yes, many diseases can be treated at home, at least initially. We will examine your pet, discuss what can be done at home and if there are any recommendations for testing or treatment that should be done at a hospital. We own a local hospital for X-rays, surgery, dental cleanings and tooth extractions. In the event you cannot transport your pet we may be able to arrange transportation for you. If your animal is too sick to be treated at home we will arrange for inpatient care at a 24 hour facility.

Can you do anything other than vaccines?

Yes! Dr. Curry has a strong background in emergency and critical care medicine and can perform the testing and treatment, including surgery, as needed on a mobile basis. We also can do surgery, dental cleanings and X-ray. We work with a number of rescues and provide veterinary care, health certificates and spay/neuter services at low cost to rescues.

What are the benefits of a Mobile Veterinary Service?

The number one benefit is less stress on your animal! By keeping your pets in their own, familiar environment, the stress is reduced before we begin an examination or treatment. Some clients have transportation issues making visits to the veterinarian an ordeal. Moms managing small children may find a trip to the veterinarian quite an adventure! Many animals, especially cats and elderly dogs, do not travel well and are much more comfortable—and better behaved– in their own home. If a house call is not appropriate, for example if your animal will need 24 hour monitoring, Dr. Curry will refer you to your local emergency facility.

Can you do everything at my house?

Dr. Curry will examine your animal, discuss recommended tests and treatment. Surgery, dentals, Xray and all laboratory testing can be done right at your house. If an animal needs 24 hour care, you will be referred to a local emergency hospital.
