Comprehensive Veterinary Services for Every Pet

From preventive care and wellness exams to surgical procedures and specialized treatments, our dedicated team offers a wide range of veterinary services to meet the unique needs of your furry companions.

Wellness & Vaccination

At Mitchell Animal Hospital and All Creatures Mobile Vet, we prioritize preventive care to keep your pets in their best health. For younger patients, we recommend yearly exams, blood work, and fecal exams. As pets age, we suggest exams and blood work twice a year to catch potential issues early.

Our comprehensive approach aims to detect problems before they become serious, as animals are skilled at hiding illness. Our tailored vaccination options include Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Lepto, Lyme, Bordetella, Canine Flu for dogs, and FVRCP, Rabies, Feline Leukemia for cats. We also provide vaccine titers for customized protection. Call us to discuss your pet's needs and create a vaccination plan that suits them best.

Compassionate Care for Sick Pets

Have a sick pet? Rest assured, we can help! At Mitchell Animal Hospital and All Creatures Mobile Vet, we are equipped to handle sick animals with expertise and compassion.

Our services include X-rays, bloodwork, and treatment arrangements that can be conducted in the comfort of your own home in many cases. While some animals may require transfer to a 24-hour hospital, others can receive the necessary care right at your doorstep.

Dr. Curry's background in emergency and intensive care medicine ensures that she is well-versed in evaluating critically ill animals and determining the most suitable course of treatment for your furry friend. Trust us to provide the care your pet needs during their time of illness.

Comprehensive Dental Care for Your Beloved Pet

We provide thorough dental services, including routine dentistry and extraction procedures. Our process begins with an examination to assess the extent of periodontal disease, followed by an estimate of the required services. Please note that a comprehensive oral exam can only be performed once your pet is under anesthesia.

During your pet's dental appointment at your home, our team will enter your residence and safely transfer your furry companion to our mobile unit. We will conduct a pre-surgical examination and place an IV catheter for the procedure. To ensure your pet's comfort and pain control, they will receive a pre-medication to help them relax while under anesthesia. Throughout the procedure, we will carefully monitor your pet's vital signs and administer IV fluids to maintain their blood pressure and aid in anesthesia processing.

Next, we will conduct a thorough examination of the entire mouth, checking for broken teeth, loose teeth, oral tumors, gingival recession, pockets, and other abnormalities. Using ultrasonic scaling followed by hand scaling, we will meticulously clean each tooth, including under the gum line. Any teeth that are loose, painful, or causing issues will be extracted, and the remaining teeth will be polished to remove any scaling instrument marks. Once the dental procedure is complete, we will safely awaken your pet from anesthesia and provide post-operative care and recovery in our
recovery unit.

After your pet is awake and stable, you may pick them up to bring home. If medications are necessary, we will discuss them with you during the pickup time. Trust us to deliver comprehensive dental care that will contribute to your pet's overall oral health and well-being.

Enhancing Health with Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine

Acupuncture, an integral part of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), plays a crucial role in balancing the body's Qi (energy). Together with herbal medicine, food therapy, and Tui-Na, acupuncture forms one of the four pillars of TCVM. By addressing energy imbalances, acupuncture offers a range of benefits, including pain relief, anti-inflammatory effects, tissue healing promotion, regulation of gastrointestinal motility, and anti-fever properties.

Wondering if acupuncture really works? Approximately 85% of animals respond positively to acupuncture treatments. Generally, a minimum of three sessions is recommended. Scientific studies have demonstrated that acupuncture can be more effective than Western medicine in certain cases.

Safety is paramount, and when performed by a trained professional, acupuncture is considered very safe, with minimal risk of side effects. However, caution should be exercised when treating pregnant animals, open wounds, tumors, and seizures.

Curious about integrating acupuncture with regular medications? Absolutely! Acupuncture can complement your pet's medical plan and may even reduce or eliminate the need for some medications. Certain conditions, such as hindlimb weakness due to neuropathy, may respond more favorably to acupuncture, contributing to a longer and happier life for your furry companion. The duration of acupuncture treatment varies depending on the individual animal. While some may require regular visits, others may transition to an "as-needed" basis.

Acupuncture effectively addresses a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, spinal disc disease, degenerative joint disease, seizures, laryngeal hemiplegia, asthma, allergies, inflammatory bowel disease, vomiting, constipation, and metabolic diseases such as Cushing's disease, Addison's disease, and hypothyroidism. It plays a vital role in enhancing quality of life, managing pain, and providing palliative care. Our experienced practitioner, Dr. Curry, completed the small animal acupuncture course through the Chi Institute and obtained certification in 2015. She is thrilled to offer these transformative therapies to her clients.
